From Baltimore and points East: Take Interstate 70 West (60+miles) to Exit 29 and go South on Rt. 65 (10+miles) toward Sharpsburg. You will pass the Antietam National Battlefield on your left as you get close to Sharpsburg. At the Stop sign, turn right on to Main St. to drive one block to the Town Square. It takes about 1 1/2 hours.

From Washington DC and points Southeast: Take 270 North to Interstate 70 West at Frederick. Take 70 West to Exit 29 and go South on Rt. 65 (10+miles) toward Sharpsburg. You will pass the Antietam National Battlefield on your left as you get close to Sharpsburg. At the Stop sign, turn right on to Main St. to drive one block to the Town Square. It takes about 1 1/2 hours.

One Scenic Route from Washington and Baltimore: After you have passed Frederick on 70 West, take the US Alt. 40 Exit and turn left toward Braddock Heights. Stay on Alt. 40 through Middletown and over the mountain to Boonsboro. At the light in downtown Boonsboro, turn left on Rt. 34 and go about 7 miles to Sharpsburg. You will be on Main St. as you come down the big hill into town. It doesn't add time to the trip.

From Virginia, West Virginia and point South: Take Interstate 81 North to Interstate 70 East. Proceed two exits to Exit 29and go South on Rt. 65 (10+miles) toward Sharpsburg. You will pass the Antietam National Battlefield on your left as you get close to Sharpsburg. At the Stop sign, turn right on to Main St. to drive one block to the Town Square.

From Cumberland and Points West: Take Interstate 70 East to Exit 29and go South on Rt. 65 (10+miles) toward Sharpsburg. You will pass the Antietam National Battlefield on your left as you get close to Sharpsburg. At the Stop sign, turn right on to Main St. to drive one block to the Town Square.

From Harrisburg and Points North: Take Interstate 81 South to Interstate 70 East. Proceed two exits to Exit 29 and go South on Rt. 65 (10+miles) toward Sharpsburg. You will pass the Antietam National Battlefield on your left as you get close to Sharpsburg. At the Stop sign, turn right on to Main St. to drive one block to the Town Square.
