The 2nd Maryland Fife and Drum Corps

The 2nd Maryland are a Fife and Drum Corps reproducing Field Music common during the Civil War and the mid-nineteenth century period and earlier, particularly the music that was heard by the Southern soldier. The group portrays the common soldier from Maryland that took their allegiance with the Southern cause. The 2nd Maryland performs at a very high level of accuracy in its musical arrangements and delivers the spirited feeling of the tunes of that era, drawing its music from original manuscripts. It also gives the same high level of authenticity in the types of instruments used, and in its uniforms and equipment representative of the Maryland soldier.
